May 3, 2023 - Letter sent by Pastor Mark Farnell regarding KIUMC's disaffiliation vote. Click HERE to read the May 3 letter. RESULTS: On Wednesday May 3, 2023, Kent Island United Methodist Church, voted by 92% to disaffiliate from the United Methodist Church in accordance with paragraph 2553 of the Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church. Please refer back to our web page (Commission tab, above) for more information. Thank you. Note: This meeting and vote were for active, professing members only. Our District Superintendent presided at this meeting.

By a vote of 89% the annual conference approved our disaffiliation from the United Methodist Church. Please keep the Commission and our Committee in prayer as they work to complete the requirements for disaffiliation.
